Music Monday #5

Monday, 29 December 2014

Today I am heading off to London with my boyfriend for a couple of days so I thought I'd do a Music Monday for the songs that will definitely be on my playlist for the coach journey!

1) From Eden by Hozier

This is what I call proper music! Stemming from my love of Take Me To Church I was so excited to see this new music video, I like the little stories they contain which aren't totally obvious at the same time.

The Christmas Tag

Monday, 8 December 2014

Hi there!
This is just a quick little tag to get the Christmas ball rolling as I am so busy at the moment! Comment with a link if you do/have done it as well!

1. What is your favourite Christmas Movie/s?

Definitely Love Actually! I love those kind of movies like Valentines Day and New Years Eve. I also like The Holiday as I don't really know.
2. What's your favourite Christmas colour?

Burgundy! Just because...
3. Do you like to stay in your PJ's or Dress Up for Christmas?

I'm one of those people who love to dress up for all the Christmas parties but at the same time would not say no to hanging around in my pjs with a big hot chocolate and watch movies!

4. If you could only buy one person a present this year who would it be?

This is really tricky...um my boyfriend? or is that really generic? I just find it so easy to buy him gifts.

5. Do you open presents on Christmas eve or Christmas morning?

I have never heard of opening presents on Christmas eve! Always Christmas morning when I was younger and now sometimes it'll be 3pm before we open anything as we always have our meal first.

6. Have you ever built a ginger bread house?

Nope, I live a sheltered life :(
7. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?

Read! I always ask for books for Christmas and then I see how many I can read before New Year! However, these last few years I have to work a lot in the holidays...

8. Any Christmas wishes?

That it snows when me and my boyfriend go on our mini break to London!

9. Favourite Christmas scent?

Hmmm...the smell of the fire or maybe cookies baking

10. Favourite meal or treat?

Yule log or maybe pigs in blanket they're my favourite Christmas treats!

Bleach London Hair Crayon Review

Thursday, 25 September 2014

For some reason I am having major festival blues this week! I have just managed to book my end of Year 13 girls holiday to Zante and I just want to get back in the party spirit!

So before I went to Reading Festival I decided I wanted to colour my hair, but not permanently as I quite like my natural hair colour. I did some research and in the end bought this : Bleach London Hair Crayon in the colour 'The Big Pink'.

London Adventure 2.0

Sunday, 17 August 2014

Hi there!

My summer holiday this year was just going to London for a few days with my mum. I had such a lovely time doing really touristy things and shopping and of course eating lush food!

Mamma Mia at The Novello Theatre

Wednesday, 13 August 2014

This has to be the highlight of my summer so far!
On Monday I was lucky enough to go and see Mamma Mia at the Novello Theatre in London!
It was one of the best shows I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot!), ABBA's music mixed with an amazing cast made such a fun night.

Sunday, 27 July 2014

Hi there!
I've recently made a change to the products in my daily make up bag.
I swapped my foundation for a BB Cream!
And yes I'm about three years late to the bandwagon since BB Creams first appeared in western countries in around 2011, but hey-ho!

Julius Caesar at The Globe

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

So last Thursday I hopped on a coach (a swanky first class Turners one!) with the rest of the people doing Performing Arts and Theatre Studies at my school and we headed to London!
The purpose of this?
To see Julius Caesar at Shakespeare's Globe!

|| Survival of the Festivals ||

Sunday, 29 June 2014

What with the summer fast approaching and several major festivals already behind us, I figured their must be many of you struggling to think as to what to pack! Am I right?

So to help you out a little, I've compiled some of the items I think are key for surviving a festival!

A Bum bag
I think that a festival is possibly the only acceptable time to wear a bum bag, except maybe if you're travelling! So why wouldn't you take the opportunity to find the prettiest one out there?

Face  Wipes
Now, there isn't going to be spectacular cleaning facilities when you have to share them with thousands of other people! This means your skin will have to suffer for a few days and face wipes can still make you feel fresh.

Lip Balm
Keeping your lips moisturised can be a challenge when you're off partying but keeping a product like the Maybelline Baby Lips  on you can sure help! Some of them even add a splash of colour!

Phone Charger
Having a portable battery powered phone charger will be a major lifesaver for many of you! This one is called Anker Astro Mini and is available from Amazon.

Sunglasses
Gotta keep those gorgeous peepers protected! These are available from River Island.

Hand Sanitiser
Similarly to the face wipes- you're not going to be able to wash your hands as much as you'd like to! But this is where Soap and Glory can help you out!

Scrunchies
You may start the day with perfect looking hair but it'll soon be all over the place from either the weather or
just because you've been partying too hard!

Wellies
We've all seen the state that Glastonbury can get in from all the feet walking in the same areas! Like this weekend! So wellies are a definite must just in case the ground decides to become mush!

Tissues
These will come in handy for things that you'll never even realise!

Compact mirror
Unfortunately, I don't think many of us could bring the mirrors off of our vanity tables to a festival so this is where a compact one comes in!
Dry shampoo
Again with the lack of cleaning facilities, dry shampoo will be your absolute saviour for the weekend! I love Batiste's dry shampoo, they smell awesome!

Let me know your survival must haves!

Mini Belgian Holiday Haul!

Sunday, 22 June 2014

Hello! Just a quick post this week as I am busy getting back into the swing of school and all that jazz!

So, I thought I'd show you lovely people the few things I bought (other than chocolate!) when I was in Belgium a couple of weeks ago!

These beautiful nail varnishes were from a cool shop called Hema which sells a little bit of everything including the items below!

I love stationery and I couldn't resist getting these beautiful fabric tapes

Hema's make up range it pretty decent for what it is and I just happened to be looking for some new eye make up brushes when we were there! This is so handy for travelling as well!

And finally I also got these funky print shorts from a store called Vero Moda. I'm yet to see a store here in Britain, only in Europe but the brand is available on ASOS! I love the shorts as they are loose and perfect for a festival look!

That's it for my foreign purchases this time round! Which is your favourite? Comment below!

My Belgian Adventure!

Sunday, 15 June 2014

Hi there!

I've been on my travels again and this time I went to Bruge in Belgium! This time I went with my parents as my exams finished before the end of study leave so I thought - why not?

We went for six days and actually spent five of them just in Bruge there was that much to see! On the other we went to Ghent and Ypres.
It was actually really nice and relaxing being able to get up, wonder around the town, look in some shops, go home and do a bit more relaxing before heading out for dinner!

So here are some pictures from the trip!

DIY | Beautiful Bunting!

Wednesday, 11 June 2014

Yay! All my exams are finished so no more revising!
And now I have a bit of spare time on my hands I thought I would get a little creative!

Here are my instructions on how to make some adorable bunting in 5 easy steps!

What You'll Need
Paper
Pencil
Ruler
Pins
Your chosen fabric(s)
Fabric scissors
Thread
Sewing Machine
Iron
Ribbon or bias binding

    Step 1:
First you will need to cut out a template using paper or card. For the ones I made I decided on 11cm.

    Step 2:
Then fold your first piece of fabric in half so that you will have two triangles from each fabric.
    Have the right sides facing.

It's a little hard to tell with this fabric but it is right sides facing!
Pin the template to the open end and cut around it.

Repeat for however many triangles you wish to make.

    Step 3:

Next you will need to set up your sewing machine, I decided to just use white thread as it would fit with all my materials and would save me having to keep changing the thread!

Use straight stitch to stitch around the edges of your triangles except the top

At this point you can cut the excess point off of the triangle to save the bottom being a bit chunky like mine are.

    Step 4:
Now turn the triangles the right way round.

And iron them so that they stay all flat and pretty when you hang them up.

    Step 5:
Okay, so now it's time to actually put the triangles onto the ribbon, thread or bias binding you are using.
Measure how much you will need according on where you are wanting to hang it.
Equally line out your triangles along the ribbon.

Then fold it in half and pin it in place.

You will then need to stitch this with your machine again to hold the triangles in place.

And ta-dah! You have some beautiful bunting to brighten up your home!

I hope this post is helpful to any DIYers!! and if any of you make your own bunting I would love to see it!
